Dozens of cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed across CARICOM and the wider Caribbean over the last few weeks. In this post, I look at and compare the numbers – as at March 21 2020 – for CARICOM countries. I also look at and compare the numbers Per Capita (per 100,000 persons).

The first chart and table below shows the number of confirmed active cases of COVID-19 across CARICOM. The second chart and table look at the number of cases from a Per Capita perspective (data as at March 21 2020).

COVID-19 numbers were obtained from the COVID-19 dashboard on covid19.caribbeansignal.com (a PowerBI dashboard pulling data primarily from WHO and John Hopkins), regional media reports and regional government websites. Where possible, the number of cases represent confirmed active cases.

Population values were obtained from Google with the majority of them coming via the World Bank (2017 numbers) with the exception of Montserrat and Anguilla.
