From mid-night April 3, consumers in Barbados paid more for gasoline and diesel products. The price of gasoline rose from $3.99 BDS per litre to $4.13 ($0.14 or a 3.5% increase from the last change of March 16). The price of diesel also rose, going from $3.31 BDS per litre to $3.45 ($0.14 or a 4.2% increase from the last change of March 16).
Government announced the capping of VAT on gasoline and diesel as part of its Budget and Financial Proposal 2022 (resulting in the price change of March 16). However, given the increases in the prices of oil internationally, fuel prices were adjusted upward for April 2022.
