The final month of the year saw two murders taking place. The victims were Rondell Alexander (27 years old) and Kirk Bowen (26 years old). The killings took place in the parishes of St. Michael and St. Thomas respectively. Both deaths were shooting related. 2019 saw a total of at least 49 murders taking place across Barbados.
NOTE: When I say ‘at least 49 murders’ this refers to deaths reported in the local media as murders. There have been more than 49 deaths for 2019, but some of them have not been reported as murders for various reasons (for example, unknown cause of death, under investigation, road accident, et cetera). As such, those deaths are not part of my murder count.
