NOTE: Hello There! It’s been a while since my last fuel price update (Aug 2022 to be exact). Since then, there have been several fuel prices changes in Barbados. So, I’ll be adding new fuel posts over the next few days to catch up!
Consumers paid less for gasoline and diesel, effective midnight October 2 2022. The price of gasoline fell from $4.26 BDS per litre to $4.14 ($0.12 / 2.8% decrease from the price change in September 2022). The price of diesel also fell, going from $3.94 BDS per litre to $3.90 ($0.04 / 1% decrease from the price change in September 2022). Source: Barbados Government Information Service.
The rest of this article will explore the October 2022 price change using one table and five charts.
Table 1 Below: The impact of the October 2022 fuel price change (compared to September) on vehicles with fuel tank sizes ranging between 30 and 90 litres (with increments of 2 litres).
Using Table 1 above, let’s assume a vehicle with a 50 litre capacity. It would have costed $213.00 BDS to fill it up with gasoline after the September price change took effect. Following the October price change, the price to fill up would have dropped to $207.00. A savings of $6.00.
